or The Curse of the Jesse's Flames Sweater
So, this sweater... not going so well. I originally bought the yarn for this way back in spring, and intended to start it right away. Being Texas, it promptly became 90+ degrees for the next 5 months and knitting a big wool men's sweater was just not as appealing. I'm distracted by a number of cute summer items.
I finally sit down to do a little calculating to knit this in the round instead of flat and cast on the 180 some stitches. Double check it all and then Carefully set it down to serve up dinner. After dinner, I pick it up and start knitting away. I start to think 'This seems really small... hmm- must just be scrunched up a lot, yeah' and continue on. After awhile it becomes apparent that something really isn't right, so I finally count my stitches. It's over 20 stitches short! Now I know stitches can leap off needles, but a mass exodus I was not expecting.
Ok fine, so I re-cast on, triple check it and start working away.
Few days later, here's the scene:
It's early in the morning, Mr. Pieknits has left about 10 mins ago and I just pulled myself out of bed. Walk out into the hall to find black yarn twisted about the entire living room, and my puppy in the middle of it, happily chewing away on what remains of the circular need the sweater was on.
The remnants:

Yep, that's a Denise Interchangeable needle. Which means it's more like losing 10 needles.
It's a good thing he's so damn cute.

awwwww...

What a cutie pie! Hope he didn't get sick gnawing on those needles.
