Randomness

New yarn purchase here. First is Bartlett Fisherman 2-ply in Garnet Heather, what a steal. I got 7 skeins of 210 yds at $3.50 ea on ebay. I had been eyeing this at the already good retail price of $6 for Rogue. Color is a bit off in the photo. Other is 2 skeins of Zephyr Wool-Silk for Fiddlesticks Peacock Feathers Shawl in, what else, Peacock (Aegean) Blue color.

Sticking with the title theme here. For you other geeks out there, check out the Random Insult Generator. All kinds of fun, expand your witty repertoire!

Randomness #3 - Does the new Chevy slogan annoy anyone else? "The price on the tag is the price you pay. Not a penny more" Ok, would one usually pay more than what is on a price tag? Our incentive is suppose to be not getting ripped off?
Speaking of ingenious marketing, have you seen the new brand of chocolate marketed as Choxie by Target? The slogan being "Chocolate with Moxie". Now maybe it's my graphic design background, but I tend to think naming a product after a word not in the general publics vocabulary not a real sound idea. But even more so - naming a chocolate something that calls to mind the adjective "chalky"...

More on knitting- I really am making (intermittent) progress on the Branching Out scarf. I did manage to work on it several times in India at least. It's my pick up and work a few rows here and there project.

Inspired by my moniker, this relatively quick knit is a great way to use up the stash yarn- or that cheap acrylic we all have lying around. If anyone makes one please comment and let me know! I'd love to see pics and I'll post them if you send them to me.

We're back from India!

Back home from our amazing wedding ceremony in India. India is such a feast for the eyes, so many vibrant colors and completely new sights everywhere. Of course I didn't get half as many photographs as I wanted but ah, well. So the extended out of country trip is why the long absence. Now all the wedding ceremonies are over I plan to get back into the knitting more. I found planning for essentially 3 weddings in 4 months of each other takes over a rather large portion of your brain.
So, coming this week- a free knitting pattern!

And some things of note-
Go check out the new anticraft. Button also on the side bar.
Knitted digestive system - and this just rocks my socks...

Farmer walking his rice fields. One of the few shots I did manage to get from the car. Taken on our way to Chennai/Madras in southern India.
