Project Spectrum Purple

Well if my camera didn't obliterate purple this would be much less blue looking anyway.

Oh sweet Noro...

My first Noro experience and I must say it's lived up to everything others have said. This is the Silk Garden in the #8 colorway, lots of purples with blues and fucia. It really is addictive. Each color section falls almost perfectly in one pattern repeat, so I keep thinking, "Ok one more repeat to see what the next color is like" and it keeps going and going from there. I played with some different stitches and settled on this fairly simple diagonal spanish lace pattern with a slipped stitch diagonal ribbing for the edging. The strong lines of the SSK's and YO's hold up to the complexities of the yarn well I think. A shot with it in the light shows the openness a bit more here, albeit unblocked.
Now I'll just go back to petting the pretty colors...

Those colors are so bright and rich! So purple!!!!!!

Gorgeous work!

Beautiful! I love Noro, but you do have to contend with the occasional hay, and other plant fibers.

That is gorgeous! Love the colors! I've never knit with Noro, but would like to.

Very nice. Pretty colors, and great knitting.

So fun to knit when the colors are as gorgeous as that! Nice stitch pattern for what I'm assuming is a scarf?

Very pretty! What stitch pattern is that? Is it something you made up or did you get it out of a book? I love it!! and I want one for myself! :)

Wow, that's really pretty!!!

I love the colours of your Noro! I've seen some bags in other colour combinations and they were great, I'd love to try some Noro yarn one day. ^^

ooh this is beautiful!!

Wow, those are some AMAZING purples! I love it!

I'm with Wool Winder, what is it going to be? My guess was a belt, but it's hard to tell the width from the photos. Anyway, very pretty colorway and love the stitch pattern!

Thanks everyone! Heh, I guess I left out the detail that yeah it's a scarf. I like narrower scarves so it will be about 5-6 inches wide, I think. I'm terrible at estimating inches. The pattern will be available here when it's done!

I wanted to let you know that I just e-mailed you a copy of the ring code from the RingSurf admin. site. Your blog is in the queue for the Fiber Arts Bloggers webring, but you don't seem to have the ring code up on your blog. If you want to e-mail me when you have the ring code back up and whatnot, I’ll check it out and get you into the ring as quickly as I can. Let me know if you need any help! :)

Lovely. Purple AND lovely - what more can you want out of life?

I gotta order me some Noro - I'm getting the withdrawal shakes and wanna go poke annoying people with sharp pointy sticks.
