Joining the club

Little pink tongue sticking out to the side, he just cracks me up.
Oh- you wanted to see the sock? Yeah, here's that too.

The yarn is just some inexpensive Bernat Sox in Jazz Hot colorway but I do like the colors. Like I said before, I don't feel like I'm wasting the good stuff if I screw up on my maiden attempt.
Pies Abound
Some more great versions of the Piece O' Cherry Pie up in the PieKnits Gallery. Check out YarnMaven's beautiful version over here. Velma of Velma's World has come up with an inventive use for the knitted pie- a thong! It is too awesome to not go have a lookie and read about the Lolita-Knit the Classics inspired project.

I know what you mean about the club! Sometimes I think that a picture of feet in just-knit socks is kind of like the secret handshake of the knitblog world (and I haven't started knitting my 1st pair yet, by the way, although I do have several sock yarns in the stash, waiting for the big day).

I started out my first socks with Knitpicks Simple Stripes hoping that I wouldn't get bored with the color changing.
Someone suggested to me that I should make a pair of Fuzzy Feet (from Knitty) because they were just HUGE socks- you do the heel turn and everything- just on size 10.5 needles and with worsted weight yarn. I stopped mid- first sock and cast on for a pair of those.. it DID help when I got to the heel turn on little needles and tiny yarn that I knew what I was doing already.
Cute puppy!

Hee! My dogs do that same thing - it's like they forget they had their tongue out! Or, they stop mid-lick and just pause - pretty cute!
My first socks were with Patons Kroy. A good first sock yarn, but you will LOVE using the "great" stuff! Your first one is looking good!

Why did you ever doubt? Your sock is looking great!

All of us over at KTC were laughing like crazy at the thong idea. I think the melding of the pie and the pig bikini top were too funny.

Does he do that very often? It's always so cute to see pink little tongue sticking out cats and dogs!
The only thing I don't like about the Bernet Sox yarn is that it is 100% acrylic ... can't keep you too warm when it is very cold. But I think they can be good house socks. Lovely colours!

I love seeing dogs on a knitting blog because it seems like cats out number the dogs. Now I have nothing against cats I've had a few, but my best friend was my dog. I absolutely LOVE dogs. Yours is a cutie and I miss mine so thanks so much for sharing.
I love the colorway of your socks and it's looking great.

Jen - Good luck on your first pair of socks! It's funny that you are knitting socks, because I just posted a free original sock pattern on my site! Come check it out, won't you? I'd love some feedback! : )
Oh, and that cherry pie thong? All I have to say is, WOW.
