This and that

Eve of Needle Exchange has put out the first issue of Yarnival! Go check it out, some good reads. You can also learn more about it and submit your blog for the next issue. I love finding new blogs.

Thanks to everyone for your nice comments about the last post! For any of you Texans out there the State Fair website has the entire creative arts competition handbook online here. There are several knitting categories if you want to start thinking about next year.

Current knitting
Scarlet Woman is seamed and only awaiting the crochet edging. Hopefully some photos this week! I tell you, no matter how much planning, calculating and measuring you do, pulling that garment over your head the first time is really the moment of truth. I always to get a bit nervous before that first glance in the mirror, but when you look, and it's really what you wanted- whoop!

With that basically finished I have immediately cast on three things. Heh, despite my promise to finish up some WIPs next, but one is another design swatch (surprise) and the other is for my MagKnits pattern and finally a sock. My first adult sized sock to be exact. Just a basic ribbed sock. Great TV knitting, but rather terminally boring blog material.

So I'll leave you with this little gem of photostyling

nice boxers

So. many. possible. comments. I think it's the fact that he's almost literally grabbing his ankles that makes my brain spasm with sarcasm overload.

Thanks for the link to Yarnival. First time I've heard about it.

There is something just so wrong about that picture.

That picture is too funny.

Glad Scarlett Woman is just what you want. Can't wait to see the pics.

That pic is scarier than ....I don't even have words. Yikes! LOL.. hahahaha

Uuugh?? What?? Que?? I am unsure of the demographic that picture is trying to appeal to?

Eh heee.. heeeehaawwhahahaaahaa! There's something for everybody there....

Awesome on Scarlet Woman! Looked beautiful at guild tonight! Can't wait to see what yarn you pick for your Circumnavigated!

Regina/Miss Knotty, who will fix the nametag thing asap. Promise. Seriously.

That picture is hilarious (I do like the socks, though). Thanks for the link to Yarnival. What a great site!

Ummmm.... yeah.

That pic made me laugh out loud - what were they thinking????

Congrats, again, for placing. I'm excited to see Aileen at the fair. And I think it's a great thing to encourage other TX knitters to get on the ball for next year. We know so many other talented knitters; we could all be winners!

I'm eager to see how Scarlet turns out. And an adult sock.. finally?! Awesome! Pattern-schmattern, what yarn are you using? And simply ignore the background noise that sounds like chants of "one of us, one of us".

As for that picture? Ha! I went for the jokes from his pose, but then the matchy-matchy of his shorts and socks kind of stopped me. That and the "Hello, Knitta'!" smile on his face. Ha!

hehehe....love the sock pic...up, down, touch the ground....
