A room of its own
Santa was good to me this year! The new craft room just acquired some great pieces.

A drawing table! I miss having one of these. I've wanted to do more drawing like I use to in addition to working up design sketches.
But that's not all! [In best game show voice] How cool is this craft/sewing armoire??

The table folds out and is adjustable in length, and then everything closes all up nice and tidy.
It's inspired me to get out an oooold project for a revamp.
Thrift store work shirt that I trimmed in leopard print. (I have a fondness for affixing fur to things) The shirt is huge however, so I set out to find a reconstruction tutorial to make a more fitted top. Then Whipup did it for me (great site btw), and recently linked to this one on Craftster. Should prove interesting to see if I will be able to manage the sleeves with my minimal sewing experience. Anyone have some good sewing references, favorite links, etc?

Just one suggestion. Leave the side seams open while you put in the sleeves. It makes fitting the sleeve in easier. You can lay it out flat instead of trying to sew it in a tight circle. Just a little trick my Mom taught me.
Good Luck with the make over. (btw, I really love that sewing armoire! I'll have to look into that.)

I have one of those craft armoires and I *love* it. I only get the den for my knitting/quilting space, so it comes in handy. I used to close it after each use, but then just said to heck with it, and leave it open all the time. Happy New Year!

I had to BEG for my craft table. Hubby thought it was too big. But I got it and I L*O*V*E it. Us crafting girls need our space!

I'm jealous! My craft room consists of a tiny, cramped area under the stairs that I fought my husband for while remodelling. To actually fo any knitting in there, one has to hunch over like a cartoon supervillain sneaking into the castle in an attempt to steal the mask (but is inevitably foiled by Scooby and those meddling teenagers).
Game show emcee: Now would you like to keep this beautiful armoire ... or trade it all for what's inside this box?
Audience: Ooooooh!
