Well look at that, some knitting on the knitting blog. It's the completed body of the Circumnavigated Cardigan to be exact, awaiting button band and sleeves. The crazy stripe/intarsia/stranding mish-mash wasn't really working, thus deciding to employ Occam's razor I went with simple duplicate stitch instead.
Some thoughts on the project of late...
Mental Notes Transcribed
- If you find yourself thinking "Stitch markers- we don't need no stinking stitch markers!", remember yes, you do- you really really do.
- A small idea swatch really is easier to work up in the long run than ripping out 300+ stitch rows after "just winging it".
- Do actually read what row you're to bind off on (re: ripping out 300+ st rows)
- Get second opinion on motifs
Which brings me to the colorwork (or blackwork in this case?)

Ok seriously- what does it look like to you? I always end up second guessing motifs I create as I know what it's suppose to be, but feel it will be sort of like trying to point out cloud figures. "No see, over here, and that spot right there- do you see it?" "Oooh, ok um- yeah I can kinda see that".
So honestly, tell me what you think. I'd rather know now than get a "Nice sweater- but what's that blob?"
It looks like stars to me. I love it!
I'm seeing 1 star floatng on 3 stripes on one side and two stars floating on 3 stripes on the other side.....gotta admit though, I don't know what that little box is hanging off one arm of the stars is. I know/think it's suppose to be the continuation of the stripe but it's coming through in the pic like the star is carrying a purse! I really do think the stars look cute though!
Looks like a really cute pattern with stars and stripes. :) I love it!
It's stars on a background of stripes. Totally obvoius. No one is going to see blobs! It looks great!
Demented stars?
I'm definitely seeing stars and stripes.. its a very cool pattern!
Ooh I really like it! No one is really making these kinds of graphics- I think it's original and unique. Can't wait to see more progress!
Stars & stripes, of course and I really like that you put two on one side and one on the other.
God I am dying to knit and these photos have me itching... I've been in Japan almost 10 days now with no needles, no yarn, no nothing! (well, except sake, which does cure the homesick, knitsick, dogsick blues a little)
But worst of all, no dogs! So it was nice to see the pic of Aejaz in the "knucks" post. Thanks for the fix. :-)
I see the stars. :) I like how it's an asymmetric motif. Definitely not blobs!
I see stars. I think it looks cute!
I immediately detected stars amidst the stripes... no trouble discerning them in your photo.
They look great!
I see what everyone else sees. Stars and Stripes. It really wasn't hard to pick out. The stripes make the stars pop and not to mention the pink background color. It looks great!
That. Is. Awesome. I can't wait to see it at the meeting (please come!! April 10) - we miss you, girl!

stars! i can see them! (second you on the stitch markers. sometimes I get all cocky that I don't need them. I do. I really do)
I love your cardigan!! the color and the stars-stars and moons are my fav! i do see stars and stripes but i actually thought that the middle star with the "blob" by him looked like a shooting star but thats just me :) LOVE IT!!
Hi,
First of all Great Job!!!!
I do see the stars motif; is it because you are from the 'Lone Star' state. I remember that you mentioned you are from Dallas in your earlier posts. :)
