Mirror, mirror on the wall
Whilst reading about this great mirror re-do I remembered I too had a gaudy gold freebie mirror that had been lounging in the garage. With a bit of funky green paint I now have my own looking glass for the craft room.
I started with a metallic green paint that I "sponged" on (went ghetto-style and just used paper towels) but it ended up not being enough contrast on its own. So I picked up some bright lime green and did another coat in that, followed by brushing on a few highlights in the metallic.

Another little spot in our home that makes me irrationally happy is our pantry. Oh how I love our new pantry and its space of cavernous proportions. In my ongoing quest to organize all our bags and bags of indian spices I picked up a bunch of these assorted glass jars. The little rows just make me smile and make cooking that much easier and in turn, more enjoyable.

You do have to kind of master a squat waddle to get out the crock pot but hey at least there's a place for it.

Thanks for all your great comments on the bias hat Version 1.0! I already have the pattern all written up and plan to offer it in child and adult sizes along with Version 2.0.

Love the mirror re-do. I saw the one over at Heather's blog and went loopy over it.. though I really just want to live in her studio! (that didn't sound too much like a crazy stalker comment did it? have you seen her studio? its FAB-U-LOUS)
I still love the color you picked for your studio.. I'm on stand-still with mine - waiting to find out if we're staying here or if the owner is selling.

Nice mirror. I love the pantry! (I drool over anything that is organized) I think that I should be a professional organizer but then I snap back into reality...

The mirror looks great! And pantry--drool! I love pantries, I know it sounds silly, but a good pantry makes a kitchen so much more fun :)

I love the pantry shelves.

Oh my gosh. I couldn't believe when I saw your photo of your pantry. We just built our house last year and I have the identical pantry. Right down to the tile. I went with wire shelving though. Too funny. You can see my home for canned goods and crock pots at: http://www.islandzephyr.com/blogs/doornumberthree/2006/11/17/moving-in/

Your mirror looks fabulous. What a great idea.
I'm so jealous of your pantry. All that space, I can't even imagine:)

Can I just say that I am SO JEALOUS of your pantry? My cramped kitchen is lame in comparison.

Greetings from a long time lurker!
Love the mirror and the house seems like it is coming along wonderfully.
If you find yourself "loosing" spices on the same shelf, think magnets and put them on the wall or at least vertical. That and a grease pencil or label maker should let you find things at a moments notice.

Irrationally happy is good! I just moved myself and have already found all the little spaces in the place that make me smileāthe sound of shoes on a new, unfamiliar floor, the way the light comes in differently through the windows....pantries :-) its all good!
Excited to see the new and improved hat....I've had a hankering to make one, and this might be the perfect pattern!
