Thanks for all your nice comments on the cardigan everyone! I've been woefully behind on email, bit of a busy week. I still managed to cast on for something new however.

It's the back and half the front of Anouk to be exact. Yep, more babies- thanks to my SIL I'm now going to be an Aunt. :)
I’ve been enjoying this quick knit and more seasonable cotton blend yarn after finishing a bigger project. Only thing is it's been awhile since I've worked with cotton and halfway through I noticed some visible "rowing out" going on. So I decided to just work my purl rows firmer and knitted on; when I finally looked down I saw it was even worse. Huh, turns out I actually work my knit rows more relaxed than purls, which I believe it's typically the opposite. So I cast on for the front and thought about it, finally deciding when that piece was done I needed to rip the other one back. Just wouldn't be happy with it otherwise. Plus, it's so small I'd feel embarrassingly lazy not too, I mean come on.

I've been thinking of making one for a wee second cousin. What yarn are you using? Yours looks cute!

I LOVE this pattern, I have just been dying to have someone close to me have a little girl so I could make one, alas my cousin just had a boy. The colors you are using are really beautiful together!

Cute, love the colors! Have you tried blocking it, I know sometimes with cotton it all kinda works out in the wash. If not I think I would have to frog too. Sorry:(

Michelle has a good point that often cotton evens out after washing and blocking.

I had the same (or I guess the inverse) problem with my stockinette. I was doing my swatches for the Master Hand Knitters program from TKGA and I guess it had just been so long since I knit stockinette flat instead of in the round. It was scary. I finally picked up a trick that seemed to help me. I do my purl rows "upside down," by which I mean I wrap the yarn under instead of over the needle, and then on the knit rows I knit through the back loop to compensate for the reversal. A bit confusing a first, but worth it in the end of the better tension.
I've been wanting to make that pattern, too! I've got a baby friend (or friend's baby, I guess) nearing her 1st birthday, so it might be a good time for it.

Love that sweater from last post too!

That's going to be so cute! Totally understanding the ripping thing when you aren't happy with how it's progressing.

Congrats on being an aunt! And the dress is so pretty. I'd rip back, too, though, since it's not too big a project. I'd never heard of rowing out before.

Yay! Being an aunt is so fun. Anouk is an adorable knit. I love the colors you chose!

I briefly thought--oh my god! Your sister is pregnant!?!? But then I read better--SIL--oh, sigh, good. :)

I looooove this pattern. I made it last year in blue and green (grass and sky, I don't venture too far past normal, apparently) ... here's a link if you want to check it out :)

It's been too long since I've been by. Your cardi is just lovely and fits you like a dream. I love the subtle variations of color in the yarn. The little booties and shoes are too cute!
Congrats Auntie!

I've wanted to make Anouk for a long while now. Thanks for paving the way. Which yarn is giving you so much trouble?

I've been meaning to knit this pattern for awhile now (for my friend's new baby), but haven't yet gotten around to even buying the yarn, much less starting. I'm anxious to see how yours turns out.

Hi Jen,
Love the Anouk! Thinking about knitting one for my new niece myself.
Apologies if you have an aversion to memes or have done this one already, but I've tagged you for 'Seven Random Things'. Check out my blog at http://penandpurl.wordpress.com for the rules if you want to participate. :)

Awwww, what a sweet dress! Did you say the rowing out was on the back? You realize no one's ever going to see that, right? heehee.
