Almost all of our links on how to spin on a takli are 404 Not Found. You may want to update your links.
I got a takli not that long ago, and love spinning on it. I've only done cotton, but I do have some camel that may work well too. It sure is fun!

You're correct Ana- I've updated to include those details! You'll need a 16" circular needle as well as double pointed needles in US size 11 (8mm).

Since you mentioned that this is in the round I assume that the needle size listed is for a circular needle, size 11. Is that correct?

Happy Valentines Day to you too! I have a couple of old WIPs in my basket that I really should finish in 2012, the first of which is my log cabin blanket. Stockinette stitch galore after the baby is born?

it's funny how some WIPs end up languishing for so long, I have a Central Park Hoodie doing the same thing. Not even sure if I still have a copy of the magazine with the pattern in it anymore! those earrings look great.

Thanks Rosalie! Unfortunately I don't have a crochet version of this as it uses a special knitting technique to work two layers at the same time and I'm not a crochet expert by a long shot. ;)
Perhaps this pattern could be of help? You could try working the motif in mush smaller gauge for a simple ring/bracelet?
