Little xmas knit

First of several more mini-sweater ornaments.
I used the pattern here as a basis and followed most of the same modifications as here. Knit in Red Heart DK.

New free pattern!

Knitted eatables, the newest diet craze

As promised, here is my new pattern. Piece O' Cherry Pie, because we all can use a little more knitted food.

Inspired by my moniker, this relatively quick knit is a great way to use up the stash yarn- or that cheap acrylic we all have lying around. If anyone makes one please comment and let me know! I'd love to see pics and I'll post them if you send them to me.

I really have been knitting

Really. I've been working on a magazine submission and as my first foray into design, it involved lots of frogging, rethinking, and reworking. The knitting on it is finished though, hurrah! Despite all the work, it's been so much fun. I've got all kinds of other ideas now, can't wait to get started on them. Now if I could just find a way to inject more time into the day.

Did manage to knit up these little booties the other day for a co-worker. Yeay for using stash yarn!

Pattern: Baby booties from Stich and Bitch Nation
Yarn: Lamb's Pride Bulky M155 Lemon Drop
Needle's: Denise 10 1/2. I ended up having to go up 2 needle sizes as was just knitting way to tight.

I've also cast on for Jesse's Flames sweater also from SnBN. Not much to photograph yet however. Loooots of 6x1 ribbing...

Lelah finished!

Well I finished a couple weeks ago, just getting up the pics. I really enjoyed this pattern. Nice lace pattern, yet simple enough to memorize easy. V. convenient that, as I took it on many a plane trip and I hate needing a chart in such confined spaces. Still want to find another ribbon, probably in white. This one was just laying around. Now without further ado- the pics...

Ignore the top part flipped over :P Didn't notice it.

And the details...
Yarn: Caron simply soft in Papaya, about 2 1/2 skiens. Yeay for tops under $5!
Pattern: The famous Lelah, by HelenaJane of Craftster
Size: Followed the pattern for M
Needles: Denise 9 and 10 1/2
Modifications: I added a purl turning ridge for the hem and then when I bound off- I picked up the stitch from below and ktog with the stitch on the needle. Then bound of these stitches the normal way. So I just knitted the elastic band into it. Anytime not having to thread a needle and sew is a good day for me! I'll post a photo of the bound off edge if I get a chance.

Back to our regular programming...

I had finished my One Skein Wonder with modifications in time to wear it with my rehearsal dinner dress. Just now getting some photos up. Added simple yarn over eyelets to make it a little more open (works well with any open back dress). Knit in Karabella Zodiac #204 white, 100% cotton.

Finished Ribbon Xback!

Here it is- my first finished garment! Made a few adjustments to the pattern do to the sizing issues with the Deco ribbon substitute. The plan I typed out below worked out, see previous post for the details. Basically decreased to 82 for the waist then back up to 90 for the xsmall size and followed the pattern from there. I also added an extra inch to the length.

SNBN Newsboy Cap

Another FO.
Finished the Headline News- cabled Newsboy Cap a couple of weeks back, just getting the photo up. Overall I really like it. I used the Blue Sky Alpaca the pattern called for, love this color. I plan on making more but I would make the bottom ribbing tighter, probably go down another needle size. Think I'll add 1 more repeat of the pattern too, since the hat is a little shorter than I would ideally want.

and a rather blurry pic

Update on Ribbon X-back. After having to frog about 4 inches (pattern got off) I'm almost ready to start the straps. Ended up going down to 82 stitches on like 10 needles for waist shaping after CO was looking to be too large. I've tried it on after increasing back up to the 90 for the xsmall size and it looks like it should fit. woohoo.

Also just purchased Glampyre's new pattern One Skein Wonder. Excited to cast on for that, plan to wear it with my new dress for my rehearsal dinner for my wedding. :D

Some FO's

Pattern: Hot Head from SnB

Yarn: Lamb's Pride Bulky

Notes: Followed the pattern except made the width for size Large and height for size Small. This fits very well for both my fiance (who I made it for) and me.

Pattern: Wrist cuff from SnB
Notes: First intarsia- I thought it was pretty easy!

Mr. Cottontail (literally)

Pattern: Heartstrings Bunny pattern
Notes: Cute pattern. Great way to use up swatchs and scrap yarn. This one now keeps my work computer monitor company.
